Slender Man Creeps Back Out of the Shadows – Slender: The Arrival VR Delayed to Later in 2025
The iconic horror game is getting even scarier in virtual reality – but fans will have to wait a bit longer.
If you had marked May 13th on your calendar to scream your way through the darkness with Slender Man in VR, you’ll unfortunately need to hold onto your courage a little while longer. Slender: The Arrival VR, the official virtual reality version of the chilling classic, has been delayed to later in 2025, according to developers Blue Isle Studios and Perp Games.
The decision was announced on May 2nd, and according to the team behind the game, the delay is due to a desire to polish the experience – and ensure the virtual terror lives up to both fans’ and developers’ nightmarish expectations.
More Darkness, More Waiting
The game was originally scheduled for release on PSVR2, Meta Quest, and PCVR on May 13th, but the launch has now been pushed to an unspecified date later this year.
“We’re working to deliver the most polished and terrifying experience possible,” said Rob Edwards, CEO of Perp Games. “Slender: The Arrival VR has to be the ultimate survival horror experience in VR, and that takes a little more time.”
A New Kind of Fear – In First Person
Slender: The Arrival was originally released as an expansion to the groundbreaking indie hit Slender: The Eight Pages, and has since become the official game version of the Slender Man mythos. The upcoming VR edition builds upon the 10th Anniversary Edition and promises a more intense, physical, and psychologically disturbing experience.
Imagine standing alone in a dark forest – armed with nothing but a flashlight and a creeping sense that something is watching you. That’s exactly the kind of “experience” VR now takes to the next level.
